Glazing Options

When designing your conservatory, the choice of a glass or polycarbonate roof is an important one. To enable you to use your conservatory all year round, you need a glazing material that deflects heat fromthe sun in the Summer and retains the warmth from heating appliances in the Winter. You may also want amaterial that allows maximum light into your home.

Conservaglass

Conservaglass represents a new generation of glazing options. In addition to keeping the sun’s energy outin Summer and keeping the interior warm in Winter, it stays cleaner for longer than conventional glass. Notonly does it stay cleaner for longer but a transparent coating bonded into the external surface of the glass(not sprayed on to the sealed unit after production like some competitor products) uses the power of ultra-violet rays and the rain to break down dirt and grime and wash it clean away. So whether its for your roofonly or includes the side frames too, specify Conservaglass and enjoy the comfort of your conservatory allyear round.

Polycarb

Polycarbonate is the most popular glazing material for conservatory roofs. It is lightweight yet exceptionally strong, 200 times stronger than glass and virtually shatterproof.

It is available in a range of colours and thicknesses, offering performance to suit your budget and conservatory location/orientation.

All polycarbonates , to some degree, mitigate against solar energy transmission and glare. However, some offer outstanding performance. Bronze/opal dual sheet gives a bright internal environment on a dull day whilst reducing solar heat gain and glare but providing privacy from on-looking properties. Another product that is effective at reducing solar heat gain whilst offering decent levels of light transmission and glare reduction is heatguard.
